History

The Board of Registry originated by unanimous vote at the TEDA Executive Board meeting in August 1980.  Texas Professional Educational Diagnosticians was established as an independent organization while choosing to maintain a relationship with TEDA. 

The first administration of the Exam was conducted in 1982.  This Exam was developed as an alternative for licensing in the State of Texas. 

The goal of the TPED Board of Registry is to maintain and promote professionalism beyond that which is expected and excellence above the level of competence.
