Winners
These are the winners for the TEDA State Board. Our elections were held in Waco at the state conference.
Brenda Hamm-Billstein has won the position of Membership Secretary. She has served in that position for 4 years and has brought many improvements to the membership,such as mass e-mailing, which gives the membership important information as soon as we get it and membership applications available and sent out in the Spring issue of the Dialog. This has also saved the organization money, by cutting down on postage. She is currently working on more improvements. Brenda is currently working in the DeWitt-Lavaca Special Education Cooperative as an Assessment Supervisor and Master Reading Teacher. She is also an adjunct professor at the Victoria College. She has also been a Diagnostician for 13 years and taught elementary school for six years. Brenda received her Bachelors and Masters Degree from University of Houston-Victoria. She has also served her local TEDA Chapter as Governmental Awareness for the last 8 years.
Sandra Meek won the position of Recording Secretary. She is currently working for Dallas ISD as a Compliance Specialist for Special Education and is monitoring 32 secondary schools. She worked as a Diagnostician in Dallas for 10 years. During part of that time, she also supervised Diagnosticians. Sandra has also taught Kindergarten and PPCD. She received her B.A. from West Texas State University in Canyon, and her M.Ed. from North Texas State University in Denton. Sandra has been active in her local TEDA Chapter. She is currently serving as their Treasurer. In addition, Sandra has also conducted workshops for ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and Behavior Management.
